Fall has finally arrived, with a little water from the sky and powdered sugar on the hilltops. As we all look towards Tuesday's election I am reminded of becoming a voter in the 90's and hearing (or saying? It was rather a long time ago!) that if you don't vote you don't get to complain. So thank you for taking that hard-won and most basic step in making your voice heard through your vote.
At A3 we feel lucky to be making the future a little brighter and more empowered with every climb and swing, every fear managed and challenge faced. Our October was packed and delightful as we showed up to support folks we care about, and November is looking to be just as fun, if not so full!
On Saturday, November 23 we are partnering with Bridging Communities again to offer a free Adaptive Aerial workshop for kids with disabilities who might not otherwise fly with us! Spread the word and registration link: https://forms.gle/YbdSvP3tGcW1kikG9.
And of course, the Festival of Light Parade in downtown Ashland at 5pm, Friday, November 29. The stiltwalkers will be tall and fabulous and everyone is welcome to walk their sparkly selves with us! We line up near the Library around 4pm.

Plus for your viewing pleasure, October Fun!!
We were welcomed as guests to the Living Opportunities annual FurnARTure fundraising event at the Rogue Valley Country Club. It is so fabulous to support this organization's work in the disability community. And thanks to Sam Schuch and The Studio at Living Opportunities, our long stilt pants are pieces of ART! Created from the paint-splattered canvas drop cloths used at The Studio as clients create their art, Sam was able to cut slices, stitch them to old aerial fabrics, and make extra long pants to cover our stilts. We are a moving canvas!
Image Descriptions:
1: A group of six stilt walkers wave in front of the stairs inside the country club.
2: 3 stilters pose with and fundraiser attendee in front of the entrance.
PRIDE!!
SOPride invited us back to perform, and of course we brought a colorful crew to walk in the Parade! Sonya even made a rare performance appearance this time. Photos by @kkellyimages
Image Descriptions:
1: 9 stilters in a variety of colorful tops and sparkly, shiny pants pose in the street waiting for the Parade to begin.
2: Sonya, in a gold top and black pants hangs upside down with legs bent reaching down towards Tara hanging flat below in black and green.
3: A student in black and white spins a turquoise fabric while hanging high on the aerial rig in front of the tree canopy.
4: A young student in blue and green hangs upside down from a knee on the turquoise fabric.
5: A student in black is suspended from one knee from a steel square looking towards one reaching hand, threaded through the bottom of the square.
Wall Dancing
Our last Wall dance workshop of the year was a brisk one, but these 4 dancers made it to the top of the wall to claim their chocolate-reward!
Stay tuned for a spring intensive weekend of flying and making choreography on the wall!
Image Description:
4 dancers bundled up on a concrete wall with smeared chalk drawings, with a 5th person standing behind the top of the wall. One is kneeling, one standing, one arching out and one hanging with long legs towards the ground with climbing ropes hanging beneath them.
Monster Ball
Our partners at ScienceWorks threw another fabulously spooky party, and we were happy to lend our flying magic! Thanks to Sam and all the families who pulled this together. Photos by @kkellyimages.
Image descriptions above:
1: Two dancers in black, with bright red face paint counterbalance each other on top of a steel hoop. One has a white shirt, white wig, and horns, the other has a red shirt, black hair, and horns.
2: An aerialist with black stitches drawn on their mouth, standing in a sling arches backwards, brown hair flying, and knee raised.
3: An aerialist with a black smile and triangles drawn on, in white pants is fully wrapped up with blue fabric crisscrossing their legs and waist, looks out.
